New VR experience is coming in the first half of 2021 to cure your lockdown woes. ‘Captain Toonhead vs. the Punks from Outer Space’ will make its way to Oculus, Vive and PlayStation VR.
Fully cartoonish atmosphere brings the player into the world of Elliot Salazar, a cartoon obsessed spaceship technician. The only survivor of a burrito explosion, it is up to him to become Captain Toonhead and save humanity from the evil dictator, Nikolas Voorhees.
Captain Toonhead must gather and protect Enercubes against the Punk Army, Tyrannosaurus Rex, bomb dropping Aero C.A.A.T.’s, Terra Sharks, and dreaded Cyber Chickens.
Fighting from the front lines, ‘Captain Toonhead’ provides a unique experience for a first person tower defense game. Playing as the title character you get to build gnarly towers and defend them using an wide ranging arsenal of fireworks launchers, Piñata catapults, hot sauce shooters, electrified pizza, and the fatal chancla.
‘Captain Toonhead vs. the Punks from Outer Space’ is developed and published by Teravision Games. Founded in 2006 Teravision Games is headquartered in Bogota, Colombia.
From Teravision Games official press release:
“Captain Toonhead started with a fantasy,” said Enrique Fuentes, CEO of Teravision Games. “How awesome would it feel to experience a tower defense if you were fighting waves of enemies from the front lines, in first-person — while fully immersed in VR?”
“It was important to us to make something genuine to who we are as developers,” added Fuentes, “so we didn’t shy away from including some Latin American elements like our super-powerful chancla and a piñata-launching tower. Even our hero was designed to be a true reflection of us and our love for geek culture. All of us here at Teravision Games are ‘toonheads’, and hopefully we created something that many other toonheads out there will enjoy.”
