Summer is in full swing and the July 4 holiday is upon us! Bring the party to your movie/game night with this awesome variation on a classic summertime treat!
Smores! With Ice Cream! (and you don’t need a campfire, unless you really want to).
This is a different way to make smores with an ice cream base that isn’t the usual stick-over-a-campfire-while-some-haunted-masked-psycho-killer-stalks-in-the-woods style of smores you’re probably used to.
INGREDIENTS:
Ice Cream (your favorite flavor)
Chocolate Chips
Marshmallows
Graham Crackers
Mint Leaf
INSTRUCTIONS:
Melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan on the stove (or over the campfire)
Melt marshmallows in a double boiler over the stove adding a couple of tablespoons of water so they don’t burn. If you don’t have a double boiler you can melt them in a greased saucepan on the stove, just don’t forget the water! (again, campfire is a usable heating source).
Place one scoop of your favorite ice cream in a dessert bowl and place graham crackers around it.
Drizzle melted chocolate on top of ice cream.
Drizzle melted marshmallows on top of chocolate covered ice cream.
Garnish with mint leaf.
