The top prizes in animation given out at the Annie Awards have been set to take place in April 2021. The festival organizers have yet to determine if the event will be a physical awards ceremony or strictly virtual.

Call for entries opens January 4, 2021.

Submission deadline is February 1.

Nominees in all categories will be announced March 3 followed by online balloting from March 29 through April 9.

April 9 will also be the deadline to purchase tickets to the Annie Awards.

The Annie Awards ceremony will announce winners on April 16. The ceremony will take place at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles, California.

The Annie Awards recognizes excellence in the field of animation from feature films, tv shows, short films, student films and advertisements. The virtual reality category will not be recognized this year. Animation that would normally be included in that category will have to check with the festival to find which category their project complies with.
