Nurse Mayflower (Jessie Buckley) keeps her word to Josto Fadda (Jason Schwartzman) as his brother Gaetano (Salvatore Esposito) lobbies for doing business like they used to do back in the boot. Josto also must deal with an impending marriage of convenience to gain political power.
Nurse Mayflower befriends her neighbor, Ethelrida (Emyri Crutchfield), who lives across the street. Though something nefarious may be afoot as both keep a close eye on the other. Is Mayflower’s gift of a home baked pie sincere or a plot more sinister?
Loy Cannon (Chris Rock) gets in a stare-down with Gaetano and discusses family with Rabbi Milligan (Ben Whishaw), the Irish member of the Fadda family. Cannon’s gang carries out one of the last deals they made with the previous patriarch of the Fadda’s by claiming business at a slaughterhouse. Gaetano doesn’t agree with honoring the deal and blocks Doctor Senator (Glynn Turman) and his crew.
A couple of new wrinkles arrive as detective Odis Weff (Jack Huston), an obsessive compulsive working both sides of the law, investigates the murderous incidents at the hospital. The other big development is the arrival of Ethelrida’s aunt who arrives freshly escaped from prison along with her cellmate.
A slight improvement over last week’s solid episode foregoes some lowbrow humor of the previous week. The fine cast of colorful characters makes up for the absence of Donatello Fadda (Tommaso Ragno).
‘Fargo’ is a well crafted series of comical crime that is well worth the watch.
