Story threads come together in mosaic of criminal mischief. Who is going to eat Nurse Mayflower’s pie? The Smutney’s? Outlaw fugitives Zelmare and Swanee? Or the police hunting them down led by Dick ‘Deafy’ Wickware and Odis Weff?
Timothy Olyphant gets a lot to do this episode as Mormon from Minnesota, ‘Deafy’ Wickware. His carrot eating lawman makes a fine contrast when paired with obsessive compulsive Odis (Jack Huston). It seems like Deafy noticed something wasn’t right when he saw Oreatta Mayflower (Jessie Buckley) deliver that pie.
Zelmare and Swanee (Karen Aldridge and Kelsey Asbille) catch a lucky break with help from a stinking corpse. They then hold up a business owned by Loy Cannon (Chris Rock) in what can only be described as a very messy stick-up.
Josto Fadda (Jason Schwartzman) has his own problems dealing with his brother Gaetano (Salvatore Esposito) who enlists Rabbi Milligan (Ben Whishaw) to assassinate Loy’s brother. There’s also Josto’s drug filled sexual dalliance with Oreatta.
The humor is a bit more on point this episode with Jessie Buckley continuing to be a scene stealer. The combination of Timothy Olyphant and Jack Huston is also very entertaining in a very ‘Odd Couple’-buddy cop way.
