Kirby Morrow, Prolific Canadian Voice Actor, Passes Away Age 47

Born in Jasper, Alberta on August 28, 1973 the popular and prolific Canadian voice actor passed away yesterday, November 18 in Vancouver, British Columbia. No details on the cause of death have been released.

Beginning his career voicing the English dubs of Japanese anime such as ‘Mobile Suit Gundam Wing’ he would go on to voice the popular character, Michelangelo in the 1997 series ‘Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation’. He also made live action appearances on television shows based on hit movies, ‘Highlander: The Raven’, ‘Total Recall 2070’ and ‘Stargate: Atlantis’. He appeared a couple of times on the 1990’s reboot of ‘The Outer Limits’.

In 2000, after lending his vocal talents to the video game ‘Jackie Chan Stuntmaster’, Morrow began a long association with voicing the character Jason Jenkins for the animated ‘Kong’ series and spinoffs, modern updates of King Kong.

He voiced the character Goku for the English dubbed version of ‘Dragon Ball Z’. He also voiced the character Miroku for the dubbed version of ‘InuYasha’. In several ‘Transformers’ series in the 2000’s he often voiced the character, Rad.

Fans of Marvel may best remember him as the voice of Cyclops/Scott Summers on the popular series ‘X-Men: Evolution’. He long voiced Tony Stark for several other animated projects including ‘Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk’ and ‘Eternals’. In live action Marvel adaptations he appeared many times on the X-Men related show, ‘Legion’.

DC fans may have noticed him in live action performances throughout a number of CW shows from ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’ and more frequently on ‘Supergirl’.

He voiced the robotic villain, General Grievous in several Star Wars animated series. And he had a long association voicing the ‘Ninjago’ series.

With nearly 200 credits to his name he leaves behind a legacy that is rarely achieved at such a young age.
