Today the nominations were announced for this years Game Awards and ‘Deathloop’, a first-person shooter game on Playstation 5, earned the most nominations with a total of 9. It faces heavy competition from the independently developed game ‘It Takes Two’, fan favorite ‘Psychonauts 2’ and ‘Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’.
Celebrating the video game industry which in recent decades has outperformed Hollywood to become one of the most dominant forms of entertainment worth $145 billion with no signs of slowing down, the Game Awards will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on December 9, 2021. The event is expected to stream live online and will be returning to an in-person event following last years online only ceremony.
