‘Jurassic World Dominion’ Chomps into Box Office

Dinosaurs attack as 'Jurassic World Dominion' bites into box office.

Mostly poor reviews didn’t stop ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ from taking down ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ at theaters over the weekend.

The latest franchise installment sees the original cast of Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum return. They join current franchise stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Dropping into second is the bigtime summer hit, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, starring Tom Cruise. Still performing strong it took in $50 million over the weekend. This is down from the $90 million it made last weekend. For the real numbers from last weekend check out our article here.

Marvel’s sorcerer supreme still holds audiences entranced. The fantasy ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ shows no signs of dropping out of the Top 5. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and directed by Sam Raimi, the comic book adventure may hold on for the rest of June.

Animation, as usual, round out the last two spots in the Weekend Box Office Top 5.

‘The Bob’s Burgers Movie’ and ‘The Bad Guys’ continue to serve up enjoyment for audiences.

‘Jurassic World Dominion’ will face real challenge holding on to the top spot in the coming weeks. From Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ biopic starring Tom Hanks to the horror of ‘The Black Phone’ starring Ethan Hawke’ and the animated ‘Minions: Rise of Gru’.

Summer box office should be exciting during the overbearing heat waves of the coming months.
